Hi Everyone

PROclimate is an information and communication platform focused on individuals and organizations striving for sustainable and positive change in the country.
Our main goal is to cover environmental and climate-related events happening both globally and in Kyrgyzstan, and to widely disseminate information about new technologies and successful practices aimed at addressing global challenges.

OUR MISSION is to promote ideas and practices of green and sustainable development in the cities and regions of Kyrgyzstan, foster responsible and environmentally conscious behavior, support the implementation of national development programs, and cover activities aimed at achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

We have experience collaborating with the following organizations:

GRID-Arendal — a non-profit environmental communications center based in Norway. With their support, a video was produced about women in local communities adapting to climate change.

The British Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic supported the implementation of the “Eco Zhasha” project, within which 18 storytelling-format videos about climate change adaptation in local communities were created, along with 9 explainer videos. As part of the project, we launched Kyrgyzstan’s first podcast on climate change and adaptation — “Zhashyl Podcast.”

We cooperate with the journalism network and media NGO n-ost, based in Germany.

We also collaborate with Kyrgyzstani organizations such as:

  • The public association MoveGreen, on issues of citizen air quality monitoring;
  • Green Alliance of Kyrgyzstan;
  • The public association Tazar, in the area of recycling and waste sorting;
  • Bishkek School of Contemporary Art;
  • The regional office of Internews Kyrgyzstan;
  • The public foundation Ilbirs Foundation, among several other organizations.

Our Team

Munara Borombaeva is a climate journalist with over 15 years of experience in media. For the past four years, I have dedicated myself to environmental and climate-related journalism, with a strong focus on sustainable development, climate change adaptation, and the promotion of green practices both in Kyrgyzstan and beyond.

My journalistic path began with traditional reporting and interviews, but over time, a deeper understanding of the urgency and significance of the climate crisis shifted my professional focus.
Now, my lens is centered on real stories of people, communities, and solutions that help us adapt to the new climate reality. I cover both local initiatives and global processes, and I actively participate in international events, including the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (COP) in Baku.

Behind me are dozens of trainings and educational programs in eco-journalism and sustainable development.
I believe that the power of storytelling—through words and visuals—can not only inform but also inspire action.
My mission is to build bridges between science, society, and solutions—to help people better understand the climate challenges we face and discover ways to adapt.
